Oh man you didn't even have my resolution in your choices. I play on a 480p EDTV. Yup. It actually doesn't look as bad as it sounds. It's plasma and 42" (widescreen) and the upscaling is hardly noticeable, except small text is ever so blurry. The game looks beautiful on it.

How do i play in 1080p? Both my TV and PS3 are set to display in 1080p, but everytime I play the game the little icon on the corner of my screen tells me it changes from 1080p to 720p.

Granted I can play the game fine in 1080i.

I have a 32" Sharp Aquos LCD Flat Panel LC-32D62U 1080p. Could it be my HDMI cable?

^ Uncheck all other resolutions in the display settings except 1080p and it'll play in 1080p.

whats the difference between 1080i and 720p?

720p is hd with progressive scan, its 720 lines vertical resolution. progressive scan makes the resolution sharper and closer to looking like 1080i, which is 1080 vertical resolution but is interlaced so it provides about the same sharp picture as 720p.
